Why Happ Plus Won't Connect (And How to Fix It)
Happ Plus, the premium subscription running on the Xray-core engine, typically connects within a couple of seconds. Occasionally, though, a session drops or refuses to start at all. Below is a walkthrough of the most common connection errors and what to do about each one.
"Connection failed" as soon as you launch the app
This message almost always means there's no active working key in the app, or your Happ Plus subscription has expired. Keys and subscription links are issued only by the service's Telegram bot — double-check that the current key is actually added inside Happ, not just saved somewhere else. If it's missing or expired, request a fresh one from the bot and add it following the Happ setup guide.
You're connected, but pages won't load
This is typically a server-side issue — the one you're on may be overloaded or briefly unavailable in your region. Open the server list inside the app and pick a different one, ideally the closest geographically or flagged as faster. See the Happ servers page for guidance on picking and switching servers.
The connection keeps coming and going
A flaky connection is often down to your mobile network, a Wi-Fi router blocking VPN traffic, or background restrictions imposed by the OS. Try toggling between Wi-Fi and mobile data, restart the app, and make sure Happ has permission to run in the background. If the drops continue across every network, switch servers inside the app.
An error shows up after updating or reinstalling
Reinstalling Happ doesn't carry the subscription key over automatically — you need to add it again. Open the Telegram bot, locate your active Happ Plus subscription, and paste the current link into the app. If the bot isn't showing a subscription, check your payment status on the Happ account page.
A general checklist if nothing above worked
- Restart both the device and the app.
- Confirm your subscription hasn't expired via the bot.
- Switch to a server in another region.
- Update Happ to the newest version.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the app say my key is invalid?
Most likely your Happ Plus subscription expired, or the link got copied incompletely. Request a new link from the service's Telegram bot and add it again.
Can Happ Plus work without a Telegram connection?
No — keys and subscription links come exclusively from the service's Telegram bot; there's no other source for a working key.
I switched servers and speed is still poor — why?
The new server may also be under load. Try a few different servers from the in-app list until you find the most stable one for your connection.
The same error shows up on every device I own — what should I check?
Check your subscription status in your account and make sure you haven't gone over your plan's device limit, then work through the troubleshooting section.
